Giant Barrel Cactus - Echinocactus platyacanthus (E. ingens)

10 Seeds - Giant Barrel Cactus Echinocactus platyacanthus ( E. ingens) The most massive of all Barrel Cacti is native to the deserts of Mexico and can reach huge proportions. It is easy to cultivate but slow growing. After several years, yellow or orange blooms will appear, usually in April, though late blooming is possible. The flowers later turn orange and wilt away to reveal small pineapple-shaped fruits. The fruits are bitter and not appealing to eat. The sharp needle-like spikes can be dangerous to people and animals, so location is important to consider when growing these. It can reach up to 2.5 metres in heigh and 1.5 metres in diameter. These cacti can live to over 100 years and can become quite large in the right conditions, even holding up to 500kg of water! In Stock and Ready for Dispatch with instructions
